Free Ports ..................: Free ports field must contain the port the software will use. Default ports are 8410 for Xclamation Workstation License & 8411 for XQuad Workstation License. If you don't need special ports values, don't change defaults values. Ports values must be separated with comma ("8410 and 8411" is written "8410,8411"). Intervals must be separated with minus sign ("from 8510 to 8600" is written "8510-8600"). For Floating License Keys, you need one free port per license. The ports must be consecutive. The first default port is 8510. For example, if you need 10 floating licenses, you should have port 8510 to 8520 free. Think big and anticipate the future licenses you may acquire. (ex: 8510-8600) 7. Host ID .....................: hostid field must contain the identity of the computer which runs the software. Try the "hostid" command to get this identity. In Floating Licenses case, this is the identity of the computer which runs the License Server. - If hostid command doesn't exist, you must answer "0x0". Be careful, this command may exist and be not in your path. Check "/sbin", "/usr/bin" or "/usr/sbin" directories. - For SCO, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD and HP-UX 9, put 0 in hostid field. You can find this information in the License dialog box. 8. Host Name ...................: hostname field must contain the name of the computer which runs the software. Try the "hostname" command to get this name. In Floating Licenses case, this is the name of the computer which runs the License Server. If this command doesn't exist, you can try "echo $HOST" or "echo $HOSTNAME". (ex: foobar) You can find this information in the License dialog box. 9. Host IP Address .............: Needless for Workstation License. The IP address of the computer which runs the Floating License server. 10. Display IP Address ..........: Needless for Local display with Workstation License. Display IP Address field must contain the IP Address of the terminal on which the software will be run. To know your IP address look at your $DISPLAY environment variable with "echo $DISPLAY". Then: - If result is :0.0 or unix:0.0 then your are using a local display. - If result looks like foobar:0.0, try "grep `basename $DISPLAY :0.0` /etc/hosts" or "ypcat hosts | grep `basename $DISPLAY :0.0`" if you use NIS. IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY PROBLEM TO FILL OUT THE FORM OR IN ANY DOUBT, ASK "HELP" TO YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.
